The Role

We are seeking a CASS & Safeguarding Oversight Officer to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing e-money safeguarding processes, transaction reconciliations, fund identification, record keeping, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires a strong understanding of the FCA’s safeguarding requirements, including the upcoming CASS 15 rules under the FCA Client Assets Sourcebook, and the ability to support the business through regulatory change.

You will act as a central point of contact across the company, ensuring that safeguarding policies, procedures, controls, and operational processes meet regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the firm’s safeguarding processes, including transition to the new safeguarding regime;
• Ensuring accurate record keeping, reconciliations, and fund identification processes are maintained;
• Designing and implementing processes to support compliance with the reconciliation and reporting expectations;
• Monitoring safeguarding controls and escalating issues where required;
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure safeguarding requirements are embedded across the business;
• Managing relationships with external auditors and supporting audit reviews;
• Keeping up to date with FCA regulatory developments, consultations, guidance, and rule changes relating to safeguarding and CASS 15;
• Supporting the review and enhancement of safeguarding policies, procedures, systems, and controls;
• Preparing management information and reports relating to safeguarding, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should have proven experience working within an Electronic Money Institution, payment institution, fintech, or similar regulated financial services environment.

You should have experience in safeguarding, treasury, finance operations, reconciliations, or regulatory operations, together with a strong understanding of FCA requirements applicable to e-money institutions.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience working in an e-money, payments, fintech, banking, or regulated financial services environment;
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements for Electronic Money Institutions;
• Understanding of the FCA’s upcoming CASS 15 requirements;
• Experience with reconciliation processes, client money, treasury, finance, or safeguarding operations;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail;
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into operational processes;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal departments, auditors, and external stakeholders;
• Advanced IT skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
